Classroom Connections features a broad mix of articles to appeal to teachers and educators working in primary and secondary schools across the UAE and wider Gulf region.
We encourage submissions from our readers. Articles we are looking for include:
Theoretical and descriptive articles about classroom practice
Outlines of teaching strategies - ranging from summaries of units of work to step-by-step lesson plan outlines
Reviews of publications, articles or Internet resources of interest to teachers in UAE schools
Profiles, interviews and testimonials of practicing educators in the UAE
Profiles of schools or school activities of interest
Reports of professional development initiatives or research
Discursive commentaries on educational policy and practice
If you are interested in contributing an article, we encourage you to contact one of our editorial committee team members about your idea. If a version of your article has been published elsewhere or in another format (e.g. in conference proceedings, a journal outside the UAE or Gulf region, or in another language), please inform us when you discuss your article.
While there is no set word limit, articles must be submitted in English, and should ideally be 600 - 2000 words. Appropriate photographs, teaching resources and work samples which support the article are encouraged. Please note in order to publish any images of a UAE National woman, we must obtain their signed consent.
Submitted articles will be reviewed by the editorial team. An Arabic version of the article may also appear in the journal. Translation will be arranged by the HCT Press.
All contributors whose material is published will be credited and receive by mail two personal copies of that issue.
Please note that all articles published in Classroom Connections will be made freely available in downloadable online (PDF) versions of the journal: see past issues for examples.
